ValleyCats Get Gritty, 2-1 Win
|
The Hamilton Red Wings and Tri-City ValleyCats provided some drama for the home crowd.
Tri-City took on Hamilton in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Benoît Tremblay, in particular, was fantastic. The Tri-City right-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-1. The winner in relief was Dylan Lowry. He is now 4-6. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Scot Goodrum delivered a run-scoring catcher's interference in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the ValleyCats. For the game, Goodrum drove in one run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Tri-City manager Jim Kleeman said.
Tri-City now owns a record of 28-38.
