ValleyCats Pick Up 6-5 Win
The Tri-City ValleyCats defeated the State College Spikes, 6-5. First Baseman Samuel Ibarra deserved a large share of the credit. Ibarra went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the ValleyCats. Tri-City reliever Ytor Álvarez was the winner. His record is now 5-4. The losing pitcher was Tennyson Grady. Picking up the save was Kenny Taylor, his 1st.

With Tri-City leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Ibarra hit a cutter from Tennyson Grady for a grand slam home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the ValleyCats ahead, 6-0.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said State College manager Ben Osborne.

Tri-City, with the win, is 20-43.
