Late Rally by Lobsters Seals 7th Straight Win
|
The Maine Lobsters topped the Connecticut Tigers, 5-3, in New York-Penn League action at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Maine pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Alfredo Morillo. Maine reliever Lee Prados was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jamilton De Anda. Caleb Sizemore recorded the save for Maine, his 16th of the season.
Maine won the game in part because of R.J. Wiseman. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lobsters ahead, 5-3. For the game, Wiseman had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Morillo.
Maine is now 40-24. Connecticut is 22-42.
