Brooklyn Hot Streak Continues with 5-2 Win
Behind an impressive start by Martin Valadez, Brooklyn beat Staten Island, 5-2. Tito Pariente earned the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the year. The Cyclones sit in third place in the New York-Penn League South Division with a record of 34-35.

Brooklyn right fielder Steve Jenkins contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 22nd hit of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 2-0.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Brooklyn manager Trent McPherson.
