State College Beats Connecticut, Goes to 42-25
|
Led by 22-year-old Jake Patterson, the State College Spikes knocked off the Connecticut Tigers, 6-2. Patterson was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Spikes. State College, at 42-25, sits in second place in the New York-Penn League South Division.
With State College trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Patterson hit a fastball from Mickey Hall for a grand slam home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Spikes ahead, 4-1.
Patterson said his team "played with determination."
