Rapids Earn 2-0 Win Against Spinners
The Niagara Falls Rapids faced a tough opponent in Lowell pitcher Levi Gonzales, but still scratched out a win at Nat Bailey Stadium by a final score of 2-0 in 11 innings. Gonzales went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The 6th-place Rapids now have a win-loss record of 33-36.

The decisive blow was delivered by George Waters in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off 21-year old left-handed pitcher Buddy Kirkwood to win the game for Niagara Falls. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame comments, Waters said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
