Turner Hammers 2 Homers in 4-1 Win
|
The Niagara Falls Rapids beat the Jamestown Jammers, 4-1, at Nat Bailey Stadium. The Rapids got a fine performance from center fielder E.J. Turner, who hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Picking up the win was Adam Azpera. He went 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 2. Jason Kester notched his 6th save of the season.
The Rapids picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Turner.
Niagara Falls is 5th in the New York-Penn League North Division with a record of 34-36.
