ValleyCats Lose Late, 6-5
|
The Spokane Indians did just enough to secure a victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats, 6-5, at Avista Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Thomas Shear. The winner was Spokane reliever Rod Schofield, now 2-1. The loser was Myles Richards. The 8th-place Indians are now 14-21, the ValleyCats 16-19.
Spokane won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Myles Richards on the mound for Tri-City, first baseman T.J. Miles hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Indians fans to their feet.
"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Shear.
