The performance of Chris Young proved critical in helping Niagara Falls beat New Westminster, 17-13. The Rapids right fielder was 3-4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Niagara Falls is now 15-20, while New Westminster is 13-22.

V.J. Sturtevant had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth for the Rapids. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Niagara Falls trailing 13-12, he hit a 2-run single.

New Westminster manager Cesar Galdos said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."
