Yakima Valley shortstop Parker Linebaugh had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Youngstown Gremlins, 5-3. Reliever Ron Levitt picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Kenkichi Sakubara took the loss. The save went to Ryan Medearis, number 8 for him.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the sixth when Linebaugh, who is tied for 5th in the NWL in hits with 45, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Pippins into the lead, 3-2.
Linebaugh attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Yakima Valley, now 18-17, holds down 5th place in the Northwest League North Division.
