ValleyCats Earn 9-7 Win Versus Maine
|
The Maine Lobsters and Tri-City ValleyCats riveted fans at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
The Tri-City ValleyCats beat the Maine Lobsters, 9-7, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. The win was due in part to third baseman Charles Burrelli, who went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jack MacArthur, 1-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings.
Peter Harris dealt the Lobsters a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Tri-City leading 1-0, Harris, who is tied for 9th in the NYP in runs scored with 29, hit a 1-1 curveball for a 2-run single.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said ValleyCats manager Jason McTaggart. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
Tri-City is 17-19 and Maine, with the loss, 20-16.
