Hauser Launches 2 Dingers, But Olympia Wins
|
Though he had a terrific game, Lyndon Hauser could not prevent his team, the Abbotsford Canucks, from absorbing a loss. Olympia won the game, 6-5. Hauser was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Sergio Rodriguez earned the save for Olympia, his 2nd of the year. Olympia is off to a hot start at 4-1.
Olympia used the timely hitting of Raymon Vega to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Spartans on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Vega called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
