Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Tigers
|
The Connecticut Tigers took Olympia pitcher Verley Madsen's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The final score had Connecticut getting past the Spartans, 4-3. Madsen went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. The Tigers move to 16-22 with the win, while the Spartans drop to 24-14.
The Tigers procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Alex Kingsley. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Casey Hudson.
