AquaSox Snatch Late-Game, 2-1 Win
|
New Westminster pitcher Sawyer Mahaffey gave the AquaSox all they could handle, but in the end, Everett left Grays Harbor Ballpark with a win, 2-1. Mahaffey allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings. The win was credited to Héctor Martínez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Finn Winston took the loss. Quincy Law earned the save, his 3rd, for the AquaSox.
Clarence King came through with a big-time hit for Everett. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Said New Westminster manager Lou Kajioka: "You just have to tip your cap sometimes."
The loss drops New Westminster to 2-7.
