Volcanoes Score Late to Upend Canucks, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring contest, Salem-Keizer pitcher Jay Garcia was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. With the win, Salem-Keizer elevates its record to 5-5.
Salem-Keizer used the timely hitting of Danny Robbins to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Volcanoes on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Said Abbotsford manager Chad Greene: "You just have to tip your cap sometimes."
