The Everett AquaSox called upon starter Dominic Bates, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Connecticut Tigers, 4-2. Bates went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-1. Rahsaan Thompson finished the game for Everett and earned his 7th save.
Osvaldo Cruz, the 22-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cruz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Everett up, 1-0.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Bates told the Everett Chronicle. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
The AquaSox have an impressive 29-13 record.
