Emeralds Lose to Ironbirds in Walk Off
|
Emmanuel Cuadras added some punch to the Aberdeen offense, helping them outmuscle the Eugene Emeralds, 8-7. In the game, Cuadras, who is tied for 9th in the NYP in runs scored with 33, went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Aberdeen reliever Luther Allen was credited with the win, to go to 1-3. Logan Makowski took the loss for Eugene. At 19-23, the Ironbirds are currently 7th in the New York-Penn League South Division.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Cuadras. Facing Logan Makowski with the bases loaded, the Aberdeen center fielder had a run-scoring walk. Game over, walk-off style!
"This place went bonkers at the end," Cuadras said.
