Volcanoes Squelch Tigers Offense in Shutout Win
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes got a stellar effort from pitcher Seth Childs, helping Salem-Keizer score a win over the visiting Connecticut Tigers, 6-0. Childs, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Milan Brewer got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Josh Wright dealt the Tigers a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and Salem-Keizer leading 1-0, Wright hit a 1-0 curveball for a run-scoring single.

"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Wright said. "And the same is true when you lose."

The win puts the Volcanoes at 26-17, while the Tigers drop to 18-25.
