Starting pitcher Steve Fisher gave the Boise Hawks a rock-solid effort. The Romeoville, Illinois native helped his team defeat the Abbotsford Canucks, 3-1, at Ballpark of Abbotsford. Boise, at 11-6, occupies third place in the Northwest League South Division.
Boise used the hitting of Telo Velazquez to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hawks on top, 3-0. For the game, Velazquez had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Velazquez told the Boise Today.
