Ironbirds Sting Pizza Rats, 6-5
|
Aberdeen third baseman Cameron Rice helped his team beat the Staten Island Pizza Rats, 6-5. Rice, who is tied for 7th in the NYP in triples with 3, went 2 for 3 for the Ironbirds. Aberdeen, now 20-24, holds down 6th place in the New York-Penn League South Division.
With Aberdeen leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Rice hit a sinker from Larry Vos for a 2-run double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Ironbirds ahead, 3-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Rice told the Aberdeen Herald.
