It took 12 innings, but the Yakima Valley Pippins were able to beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 4-3, at Volcanoes Stadium. Aaron Cooper provided some offensive muscle for Yakima Valley. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win belonged to Tyler Ng in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Owen Massen took the loss for Salem-Keizer. The win puts Yakima Valley at 12-10 this season.

Cooper had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a 1-2 cutter from Owen Massen, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Pippins a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Cooper.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Victor Arias, the Yakima Valley manager.
