Ironbirds Deal Flying Tigers 4-2 Defeat
|
The Aberdeen Ironbirds topped the Medford Flying Tigers, 4-2, in New York-Penn League action at Medford Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Aberdeen pitcher Cayden Fisher. Fisher went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-1. Luther Allen earned the save, his 6th, for the Ironbirds.
A.J. Shafer, the 23-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Shafer contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the fourth inning to put Aberdeen up, 3-2.
"Winning is the only objective," said Fisher after the game.
Aberdeen is now 22-24, while Medford is 31-14.
