Spinners Lose, 5-1; No End to Nosedive
|
The performance of Cole Freeman proved critical in helping Gold Beach beat Lowell, 5-1. The Sea Unicorns shortstop was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Sea Unicorns now have a record of 15-31.
Freeman contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Gold Beach in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Freeman took a fastball from Randy Weich and stroked the home run to left-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Sea Unicorns to leap in front, 3-1.
"This losing is getting old," said Lowell manager Danny Inglis.
