Spokane Stumbles Again, Falls, 2-1, to Jamestown
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Jamestown Jammers and the Spokane Indians, pitcher Hewett Saenz was the difference between victory and defeat. The Jamestown left-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Jammers win. Saenz picked up the win for Jamestown, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Jon Muldoon closed the game out for Jamestown, earning his 2nd save.
The Jammers got a big at-bat from catcher Kyle Bryant. For the game, Bryant was 1-3 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Jamestown a 2-1 lead.
"The want-to is there for our guys," said Spokane manager Rafael Mier. "We'll get this thing turned around."
The Jammers now have a mark of 22-25.
