Mets Down Cardinals, 4-2
|
No one was more impactful than Harrison Young in an extra-inning, 4-2 New York win over St. Louis. Young, who is tied for 6th in the AL in triples with 2, was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win went to Fay Rowland in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Lance Snell took the loss. Randal Lara collected save number 5.
Colton Garner, who finished 5th in the AL in triples with 7 in 2065, had a direct impact on the outcome. Garner contributed a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put New York up, 4-2.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Young told the New York Bulletin.
With the win, New York goes to 14-9.
