Late Heroics Net Chiefs 3-2 Win
|
The Wenatchee Chiefs downed the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 3-2, in 13 innings at Chiefs Stadium. Jeremiah Portman led the way, going 5-for-6 for Wenatchee. At 6-19, Wenatchee is in 8th place in the Northwest League North Division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Nate Embrey in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing 6' 9" right-hander Cole Salcedo to win the game for Wenatchee. The home crowd went nuts.
"This house was rockin'," Embrey said.
