Shields Shackles Abbotsford in 3-1 AquaSox Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Everett AquaSox and the Abbotsford Canucks, pitcher Nathaniel Shields was the difference between victory and defeat. The Everett right-hander earned kudos in the 3-1 AquaSox win. Everett is in first place in the Northwest League North Division with a record of 23-5.
Shields was the winner. He's now 5-0, after putting the Abbotsford offense in a vise grip. Over 8 innings, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while racking up 5 Ks.
"Nathaniel gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Everett manager Johnny Stricklin.
