Emeralds Clip Dodgers, 3-2
|
The Eugene Emeralds eked out a 3-2 win versus the Rogue Valley Dodgers at Medford Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Jay Hall. He was terrific. Jack Hatter, now 3-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Logan Makowski got credit for the save for Eugene. It was his 5th of the year.
Eugene used a clutch hit from Leonardo Abrego to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Emeralds ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Abrego said after the game.
The Emeralds' win now puts them at 19-33.
