Nat Bailey Stadium was the site for New York-Penn League action featuring the Niagara Falls Rapids and Connecticut Tigers.
Behind an impressive start by Evan Frid, Connecticut beat Niagara Falls, 5-1. The 8th-place Tigers are now 21-32, the Rapids 17-35.
Connecticut used a clutch hit from Derek Loughin to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Frid.
