Wenatchee Sunk by Spokane, 4-1
|
Spokane starter Edwin Nelson kept the Wenatchee offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his slider in leading the Indians to a 4-1 win. With the win, Spokane raised its record to 26-15.
Porter Olivares, who is tied for 6th in the NWL in runs scored with 26, had a direct impact on the outcome. Olivares contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Spokane up, 3-1.
"It's not by accident that Edwin finds ways to get outs," said Spokane skipper Nathanael Harrison.
