Yankees, Tigers Confirm Trade Monday, August 9th , 2032 The New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. New York will part with 21-year old minor league RHP Hugo Madrid, 39-year old LHP Jon Pierre, and a 5th round draft pick, while the Tigers have dealt 28-year old RHP Mitsujiro Watanabe and 30-year old LHP Silvestro Mocca. "This one took a while to figure out," said New York general manager Adam Kiefer. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." Detroit will retain a portion of Mocca's remaining contract. Lifetime Pierre has posted 139 victories and 90 defeats with a 3.92 ERA. On the season Watanabe has 8 wins and 6 losses and a 4.44 ERA. |
