Vignone Sensational, 5-for-7 Thursday, August 14th , 2064 It was a hits blitz for Tom Vignone at Royal Port Stadium. The Vancouver Cascades left fielder tore into the Indianapolis Ignition for 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Ignition swept past the Cascades, 17-13, to ruin Vignone's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Vancouver manager James Navarro explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Tom was nice but it wasn't enough." Tom Vignone doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Rob Lewis in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off Phil Meyer in the 11th.
