5-Hit Game for Rose
Monday, July 16th, 2007
The Acuexcomac Steelhounds stopped the San Luis Serpientes by a score of 15-4 at Cuaxustenco Fields today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Jon Rose. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Rose said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Rose did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Serpientes.

"Not much that I can say," offered San Luis manager Ruben Rodarte. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Jon Rose singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and was hit by a pitch in the 9th.

On the year Rose has hit .293 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs.
