Mariscal Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Saturday, August 11th, 2007 Jorge Mariscal told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Mariscal of the Lerdo Wolfhounds did against the Santa Catarina Imperials. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 9-8 defeat. "Not much I can say," offered Mariscal in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Jorge Mariscal doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. This year Mariscal is hitting .273 with 80 hits, 6 home runs, 42 RBIs and has scored 39 runs. View Boxscore |
