Proust Bashes 5 Base Hits Thursday, August 23rd, 2007 It was a hits blitz for Jean-Marc Proust at Steeldogs Ballpark today. The Delicias Canucks second baseman tore into the Xitla Steeldogs for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Steeldogs swept past the Canucks 8-5 to ruin Proust's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Delicias manager Luis Rangel explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Jean-Marc was nice but it wasn't enough." Jean-Marc Proust singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Presently Proust is batting .286 with no home runs and 58 RBIs. He has played in 109 games and scored 49 times. View Boxscore |
