Oilvares Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, September 27th, 2007 It was a sensational day at the plate for Luis Oilvares as he led the charge to a 13-0 win over the Canucks. The Minatitlan left fielder was pure misery for the Delicias pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Oilvares put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Luis Rangel, manager for the Canucks, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Luis Oilvares hit a two-run home run off Eric Phillips in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. This season Oilvares has hit at a .270 clip and produced 85 RBI, 19 home runs and 79 runs. View Boxscore |
