Midkiff Clips Mavericks for Cycle

Matthew Midkiff had a special day at Grainger Stadium today, contributing to the San Bernardino Stampede' 15-4 win and hitting for the cycle along the way.
The 24-year-old left fielder went 4-for-4, raking a single, double, triple and home run against the High Desert Mavericks.
"Boy, Matthew had himself a ballgame, didn't he?" San Bernardino manager Ian Martin said later. "You don't see that very often."
For the day, Midkiff finished with 2 RBI and 5 runs scored to go with his 4 hits.
Matthew Midkiff doubled in the 2nd, tripled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Juan Gutierrez in the 8th.
So far this season Midkiff has put up a .301 batting average with 59 hits, 23 home runs and 52 RBIs.
