Bomexi Belts Bunch of Base Hits Thursday, June 11th , 2048 There was no storybook ending. Orlando Bomexi of the Lancaster JetHawks socked it to the visiting Visalia Rawhide with a terrific 5-hit game today, but his team didn't get the win. The JetHawks fell, 8-2, at The Hanger. "I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here," Bomexi complained following the loss. "When you have a great game you should win the game, too." He definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Lancaster manager Josh Burke sympathized with his center fielder, telling BNN reporters after the game that "Orlando played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough." Orlando Bomexi tripled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Bomexi is batting .269 with 53 hits, 1 home run, 22 RBIs, .336 OBP and has scored 22 runs. View Boxscore |
