MID Pick for Top Pitcher in May is Currie Thursday, June 1st , 2028 The pick for the Midwest League's best pitcher in May is relief specialist, Blair Currie. The Great Lakes pitcher compiled a great month to take home the award. "I just go out there and try and get the job done," Currie told the press. "Things worked out real well last month and I appreciate the recognition." The 21-year-old reliever threw 13.2 innings in 11 relief appearances as he piled up 6 saves, 15 strikeouts, and notched a 4-0 record and 1.98 ERA for the month. Currie has taken the mound for 20 relief appearances this season, nailing down 11 saves while notching a 4-2 record with a 2.01 ERA. The Great Lakes reliever has limited opposing batters to a .229 batting average. |
