League Suspends Barker and Newkirk for Brawl Wednesday, May 22nd , 2052 Baseball officials have suspended two players for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct" in yesterday's West Virginia-Augusta contest at Appalachian Power Park. The Power Peter Barker and the GreenJackets Shannon Newkirk will have to sit out 4 and 6 games respectively for their parts in the brawl. Currently Barker is batting .283 with 2 home runs, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored. For the season Newkirk has compiled a 2-3 record with a 4.84 ERA. |
