SAL Presents Player of the Week Trophy Monday, June 3rd , 2052 One of the league's most exciting young players, Mathew Welch of the Augusta GreenJackets earned himself South Atlantic League Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 22-year-old first baseman had a lofty .500 average (9-for-18), collecting 3 home runs, 4 RBIs and 6 runs scored. Thus far this year Welch has hit .228 with 10 home runs and 23 RBIs. |
