5-for-6 Day for Brousseau
Saturday, June 17th , 2056
Today at Lake Olmstead Stadium, Clay Brousseau put on an impressive display.

The Lakewood BlueClaws third baseman tagged Greenville pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Greenville Drive by the score of 14-8.

"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Brousseau said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league."

Despite the terrific performance, the BlueClaws manager was unwilling to offer the third baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.

"Clay told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Ben Schiappa said.

Clay Brousseau singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Robert Jimenez in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Brousseau is hitting .402 so far this season with 14 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 35 hits including 2 home runs, 14 walks and .486 OBP.
