Fregoso Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, August 21st , 2036 A jubilant Angel Fregoso joined the postgame press conference at PK Park today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Boise Hawks pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Eugene Emeralds third baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Emeralds to a 10-4 win. "He made it look easy," said Arturo Valenzuela, manager of the Hawks. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Angel Fregoso hit a solo-shot off J.C. Johns in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. For the year Fregoso is batting .404 with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
