5-for-6 Day for Salinas Monday, August 22nd , 2050 Rogue Valley second baseman Felipe Salinas went down swinging at Portland Ballpark today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Dodgers fell, 3-2. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Salinas said after his 5-for-6 performance against the Maine Lobsters. "No offense meant to Maine, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the second baseman's improvements, saying Salinas spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Salinas agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Felipe Salinas singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 9th and grounded out in the 11th.
