Cyclones Rollin Mecca Down and Out for Year
Thursday, August 19th , 2038
The doctors have spoken and Rollin Mecca of the Brooklyn Cyclones didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Mecca sustained his season-ending injury during the Oil City Oilers game yesterday at MCU Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Brooklyn medical staff reported Mecca had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11-12 months.

Mecca has made 8 starts this season, posting 2 wins and 1 loss. Opposing clubs are batting .159 against him and he has 38 strikeouts in 43.2 innings with a 2.27 ERA.
