Unverferth Slaps 5 Hits Thursday, July 20th , 2051 5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Wenatchee's Gord Unverferth made it happen today against the Spinners. Everything came together at the plate for the 22-year-old center fielder as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Chiefs to a 17-1 win at Chiefs Stadium. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Unverferth said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Gord Unverferth singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Emiliano Villegas in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
