Leonard on Fire, Named Player of the Week Monday, August 21st , 2051 Jason Leonard must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .565 clip, then the Tri-City center fielder finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the NWL Player of the Week Award. He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too." For the week Leonard batted .565 (13-for-23) with 1 home run and 7 RBIs. Leonard's current batting average stands at .365 and he has chalked up 5 home runs and 45 RBIs. |
