Buckner Laces 3 HR Against West Virginia Saturday, September 2nd , 2051 Lowell Spinners bombardier Blake Buckner set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence as his club took a 9-3 win over the West Virginia Black Bears today. "I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one," Buckner told writers in the postgame press room. "I was ahead in the count, so I gambled that I'd get a certain pitch, and got all of it." For the game, the Lowell catcher had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 7, and scored 3 runs. Blake Buckner walked in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Patrick Sears in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off B.J. Radcliffe in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Warren McKinney in the 9th. This season Buckner has hit at a .270 clip with 28 RBIs, 3 home runs and 10 runs scored. He has played in 44 games. |
