Nunnally Rockets 3 HR Against Hampton Monday, August 14th , 2034 Kinston Indians left fielder Forest Nunnally put on a dazzling display of power today at Hampton Stadium against the Hampton Orioles. In the 10-4 Indians victory Nunnally penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Hampton manager Benton Krueger said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 21-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Nunnally said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Forest Nunnally hit a solo-shot off Alexander Mathias in the 2nd, hit a sac fly in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Asher Hutson in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jay Frazier in the 9th. In 24 games this season Nunnally has batted at a .333 pace with 28 hits and 6 home runs. |
