Bellew 25-Game Hitting Streak Ends Wednesday, July 30th , 2064 It was the best of both worlds for the Erwin Mountaineers at Ballpark of Edmonton, as they defeated the Delco Jawns, 4-2, and also snapped Henry Bellew's 25-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old Delco shortstop failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Bellew, we just wanted to win the game," said Mountaineers skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Bellew frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." For the year, Bellew is batting .412 with 49 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 27 times and driven in 21. |
